Wastegates are similar to turbos in the fact that they both have high flowing exhaust gas through them and both emit high temperatures and heat energy. Running a wastegate blanket has two main benefits. First up, wastegate blankets are used to prevent excess heat energy being dispersed within the engine bay. Keep nearby components cool and reduce intake temperatures by keeping your wastegate blanket insulated. Secondly, the internal diaphragm of your wastegate is an extremely sensitive component. Protect the internal diaphragm of your wastegate and prevent boost creep by preventing the diaphragm from becoming weak and failing after being over exposed to heat. It’s that simple.
Yes! Our wastegate blankets are designed to fit almost all wastegates on the market. Our blankets come in a variety of sizes that will suit your specific wastegate. To check which size you need, check the product code or model of wastegate which states the size. You can then match the size of your wastegate to the size of the blanket available on our website.
As above! Our blankets are designed to match the size of your wastegate. As an example, a Turbosmart 50 wastegate, utilises our 50mm wastegate blanket. The same goes for a Tial 45mm wastegate, as it utilises our 40/45mm wastegate blanket. If you are unsure of the size that you need however, please get in touch!
Like all of our heat blankets in the range, our wastegate blankets are made using our Mk3. blanket construction which outperforms other blankets on the market. Unlike any other blanket on the market, our wastegate blankets can be removed for routine maintenance and are not a single use product like you will find elsewhere. The combination of both the performance and durability of our blankets make them the premium choice for our customers worldwide.
